West Ham: Fans discuss Nigel Reo-Coker on his 36th birthday

A lot of West Ham fans are discussing former player Nigel Reo-Coker after a fan page posted footage of the player as they wished him a happy 36th birthday.

The Englishman made 137 appearances for the Irons and, even though he was more of a defensive midfielder, he managed to score 11 goals during the four seasons he was at the club, as per Transfermarkt.  His first full season at Upton Park saw him help the Hammers achieve promotion to the Premier League in the 2005 playoff final.

However, the midfielder who signed for the Irons at the age of just 19, was perhaps overwhelmed by the hype around him and never truly pushed on. After leaving the club for Aston Villa only three years after signing for the Hammers, as per Transfermarkt, Reo-Coker’s career would fizzle out as he was released by Villa and moved on free transfers to numerous clubs including Bolton, Ipswich, and MK Dons.

It was an anti-climactic way for his career to unfold, with his performances at West Ham dividing opinion among some supporters. Here is what these fans had to say following the tweet:
