West Ham know there is still a lot to play for in the Premier League, with the possibility of getting European football in Manuel Pellegrini’s first season still on the cards.
At this stage, it does look to be a massive long shot but, with the players they have, anything could be possible if the Hammers perform consistently.
Pellegrini completed a big overhaul of the squad in the summer, something he will have to do again at the end of this season as well, if he wants West Ham to push on to where he wants them to be.
To do that, a number of positions must be identified as weaknesses and first on the list would be the striker role.
Due to the fact that Marko Arnautovic initially wanted to leave the club in January, West Ham may look to cut their losses and find someone willing to fight for the shirt instead.
A different kind of player but one who could still bang in goals for the Hammers is Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller.
Haller, (who is valued at £31.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a striker that could make a noticeable difference to West Ham’s attacking force and inspire them to finish higher up the table.
Whether he is a replacement for Marko Arnautovic or just another signing, Haller could do wonders for the Hammers, having been in sensational form this season.
The Frankfurt man has been a revelation in-front of goal, with 14 goals and 11 assists in 29 appearances. Finishes have come in the air, with his left and right foot because Sebastien Haller is a highly-skilled player that has the tools to be a consistent goal-scorer.
The Frenchman is still only 24-years-old, so with time ahead, he could improve his game and help take West Ham to the next level.
