West Ham United are said to be eyeing a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Conor Coady as talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook makes a live-on-air claim.

The Lowdown: Hammers want new defender...

The Irons and manager David Moyes are said to be interested in signing another centre-back option this summer despite the arrival of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes.

West Ham have had to cope with a defensive injury crisis as of late, prompting the east Londoners to take to the transfer market yet again in a bid to resolve their problem position.

The likes of Attila Szalai (Fenerbache) and Marcos Senesi (Feyenoord) are currently linked with a move to the Premier League, but according to talkSPORT's Crook, there is another name on the possible target list.

The Latest: Crook makes Coady claim live-on-air...

Speaking live on a radio broadcast (Friday, 11:03am), via Hammers News, the reporter suggests that Coady is attracting interest from West Ham.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a possible exit from Molineux this summer and his manager Bruno Lage has refused to rule out the possibility of him leaving Wolves.

The Verdict: Great option...

Already proven in England, Lage's mainstay played more minutes domestically than any of his teammates last season whilst also racking up their most blocked shots per 90 (WhoScored).

Coady would come to the London Stadium with bags of experience and many plaudits, having been called a 'machine' by former Scotland boss Alex McLeish and even 'one of the best defenders' in the top flight by ex-Leeds striker Noel Whelan.
