West Ham United: Fans react as Stuart Pearce admits club blocked his return

Stuart Pearce has claimed that West Ham United blocked him from returning to the club as part of David Moyes’ backroom staff.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Manchester City manager claimed that the Hammers’ owners David Gold and David Sullivan were disappointed after Pearce was “critical of the regime” at the club and had therefore prevented him from going back.

He had been part of Moyes’ team when the Scot was initially in charge of the east London club in the 2017/18 season but left the club in May 2018 (BBC Sport).

Some may have thought that he would therefore return to the Premier League outfit alongside Alan Irvine and Billy McKinlay, but it appears that will not be the case.

After hearing Pearce’s comments, quite a few West Ham fans have expressed their annoyance that the club’s owners wouldn’t allow the move. Indeed some insist that it should be Moyes’ choice who is on his coaching team and that Sullivan and Gold shouldn’t interfere.

Here is what some said about it on Twitter…
