Several West Ham United fans have admitted that they would like to see Felipe Anderson back in the starting line-up.
The Brazilian had been a regular this season and started 15 of their first 16 fixtures (Transfermarkt). However, he was left out by Manuel Pellegrini for the Hammers’ most recent game against Southampton due to illness as they changed from a 4-2-3-1 formation to a 4-4-2 (Transfermarkt).
In truth it has been a tough season for Anderson, who has failed to score a single goal in all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).
Having won without him at St. Mary’s, Pellegrini now has to decide whether to stick with the same team or bring back the man who signed from Lazio for what was at the time a club-record fee of £41.5m (BBC Sport).
Pablo Fornals played in left midfield which would probably be where Anderson would fit into this system, but it would be hard to drop the Spaniard who registered a third assist in four games against the Saints (Transfermarkt).
The other alternative would be leaving out Robert Snodgrass who played in right midfield and it seems that is the change most West Ham fans would make.
