West Ham’s defender move rocked after significant blow

Though things have been picking up of late, the West Ham United fans parked up at the bar in the Transfer Tavern are lamenting the name Mike Dean following yesterday’s loss to Manchester United.

Fears of relegation have somewhat subsided at the London Stadium, though there’s little doubt his campaign has been a very disappointing one for those in claret and blue.

So, reports from the Daily Record have only added to the frustrating feelings of our east London locals.

They claim the Hammers were ready to offer Scotland international Callum Paterson a move to the Premier League, following his thoroughly impressive season for Hearts.

The 22-year-old is understood to have been the subject of scouting missions from the Irons, who had reportedly planned to watch him against Aberdeen in the coming days.

However, the right-back picked up a cruel injury against Kilmarnock and could face up to nine months out of action after he suffered ligament damage.

Paterson is out of contract in the summer and is also thought to have attracted interest from Derby and Wigan, though faces a battle to be fit in time for the start of next season.

Who should West Ham sign instead? Let us know below..
