Southampton: Fans react to update on Yan Valery’s lengthy absence

A lot of Southampton fans have reacted after Yan Valery has come out and explained why he missed parts of the 2019/20 season due to glandular fever, on Instagram, via SaintsFC News & Views.

The 21-year-old right-back has only featured nine times this campaign, via Transfermarkt, with fans uncertain as to what the exact injury was that was keeping him out of the side.

However, during a Q&A on Instagram, the French defender revealed it was glandular fever, which has caused mixed reactions from the fans. His appearance on the 7th March in the Saints 1-0 loss to Newcastle was his first since 30th November 2019, via Transfermarkt, and it showed as his error led to the goal, via FanSided.

With football across the globe currently halted due to recent events, the player will hopefully be able to put the mistake behind him and return to the starting eleven when the season resumes.
