Aston Villa finally have lift-off.

After a frustrating start to the 2025/26 Premier League season, Unai Emery’s side picked up their first win of the campaign at the weekend with a much-needed 3-1 victory over Fulham.

Ollie Watkins ended his goal drought, captain John McGinn found the net, and Emiliano Buendía — back in form after injury troubles — also got on the scoresheet.

It was a vital result for Villa, but their earlier struggles mean there’s still work to be done.

Unsurprisingly, Emery is already casting an eye toward the January transfer market — and one name is firmly on his radar.

According to a report from TBR Football, Aston Villa are closely following the progress of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo.

The Ghana international has been in sparkling form this season, racking up four goals and two assists in just six league appearances. His blistering start has only enhanced his reputation as one of the most dangerous emerging attackers in the Premier League.

Praised by teammate Lewis Cook as “clinical,” Semenyo signed a new contract earlier this year that runs until 2030, with no release clause included.

That hasn’t stopped interest, though. TBR’s Graeme Bailey claims that several European heavyweights, including Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Atlético Madrid, are keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.

For now, Bournemouth are adamant that Semenyo is not for sale as they look to continue building under Andoni Iraola.

But as with any in-demand forward, a sufficiently high offer could test their resolve — and Villa may yet be tempted to see how much it would take to prize him away.
