Manchester United are expected to part ways with several high-profile players this summer as the club continues its squad overhaul.
Jadon Sancho is set to depart on a free transfer, while Casemiro appears to be heading for the exit despite calls for him to remain at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford’s future has also become one of the biggest talking points of the window.
The England international had been widely tipped to complete a permanent move to Barcelona after an impressive loan spell in Spain. However, with the Catalan giants yet to trigger their purchase option, that move now looks increasingly uncertain.
And it appears another European heavyweight is ready to step into the race.
Bayern Hold ‘Positive’ Rashford Talks
According to TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich are becoming increasingly optimistic about their chances of signing Rashford this summer after holding encouraging discussions with the player’s representatives.
The Bundesliga champions are said to be preparing an opening offer worth around €25 million (£21.5m) as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Rashford enjoyed a strong season on loan at Barcelona, registering 28 goal contributions in 49 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists. Despite that return, Barcelona have so far declined to activate the €30 million clause in his deal before its expiry date.
Manchester United remain keen on a permanent sale rather than another loan arrangement and are understood to be seeking a fee close to the amount Barcelona were offered.
While Bayern’s interest is growing and talks have reportedly been positive, any deal will ultimately depend on Rashford’s willingness to make the move, with the 28-year-old still weighing up his options ahead of a crucial summer.
