The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting nothing but a win against Watford on Saturday. It has been a tough few weeks for the Blues, and a draw at Stamford Bridge against Roma has done little to bring the fans back on side. It was a disappointing performance from the Blues, and unless things turn around quickly, Antonio Conte could be in a real spot of bother.

Typically, a game against Watford – Chelsea’s next opponent – would be viewed as an easy fixture, but not this time around. Marco Silva has got his side playing very well, and they will undoubtedly cause Chelsea problems. It won’t be an easy game for the Blues, and so Antonio Conte needs to get everything spot on, both in terms of tactics and in terms of the players he picks.

He needs to make sure that he begins the process of rotating, given that against Roma, a number of players looked very tired indeed. Likewise, a few poor performance need to be acted upon.

With that said, Conte simply must drop these 2 Chelsea players against Watford – agreed?

Cesar Azpilicueta

It will pain a lot of Chelsea fans to even consider dropping Cesar Azpilicueta, but it might be necessary.

The Spaniard has looked out of form and tired in recent weeks, and against Roma he was very poor. In fact, he was at fault on more than one occasion leading to opposition goals.

He has been so consistent over the last few years, but every player suffers the occasional dip, and his is unfortunately on a downward spiral at present.

Perhaps a weekend off will do wonders.

Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta was withdrawn against Roma on Wednesday, and with good reason.

He looked pretty poor against the Italians, and he has done nothing to suggest that he is half as effective as Victor Moses.

One player that could come in is Antonio Rudiger. The German has experience of playing on the right, and he could certainly do a job.
