West Ham are interested in signing Troy Deeney from Watford according to The Daily Star.
It has been a mixed start to the new campaign for the Hammers. They began with two defeats in their first two matches, and plenty of fans were angry with their transfer business. However, they have won their last two Premier League fixtures, scoring seven and conceding none, and they are closing in on the signing of Said Benrahma from Brentford.

It seems they are also looking for back-up to Michail Antonio, and Deeney’s name has now been mentioned. The £5.85m-valued 32-year-old (as per Transfermarkt) was relegated with the Hornets last season, but he still managed 10 Premier League strikes. Throughout his career, he has continually found the back of the net, scoring 160 times in 529 games.
Having heard the news, it seems many of the West Ham supporters would be delighted to sign Deeney. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the rumour.

Troy Deeney would bring more to West Ham than just on the pitch – a leader off the pitch and would lead by example. On the pitch, would add bite and aggression that West Ham lack more often than not. Deeney would be decent squad option and bc, up option from the bench, if needed
