Chelsea look like they are going to romp the league title under Antonio Conte, with the Blues fans here in the Tavern absolutely delighted with the Italian and how things have gone this season.
A ten point gap has now opened up to second place, and as other clubs around them drop points, the Chelsea juggernaut seemingly continues to plunder on unfazed.
This week, the Blues fans have been gathering around the jukebox picking out some of their favourite tunes, and talk has turned to the summer, with Conte expected to strengthen his ranks further.
One players who they could look to sign is £17m rated Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who has been impressing over in Germany for some time now.
Our landlord thinks the Turk could be a tremendous signing at Stamford Bridge, and we agree.
So, here’s TWO reasons why Chelsea should look to sign Hakan Calhanoglu…
A fresh and exciting option
With the formation Conte employs, it sometimes doesn’t allow too many attacking midfielders to be on the field at once.
However, with the club back in the Champions League next season and more games and pressure, having a player Calhanoglu could be vital.
His ability to change games with a moment of magic is something which has many clubs on high alert, and Chelsea would be wise to act fast to secure his signature.
Free kick specialist
Calhanoglu has become one of the best dead ball strikers in world football during his time in Germany.
The Turkish international can win a game with a moment of magic from a dead ball, and it is this sort of thing which could attract Conte.
If he makes the move to Chelsea, Blues fans can expect to see some spectacular long range strikes at the Bridge.
