Leeds fans have always taken pride in their academy. Thorpe Arch always seems to have someone coming through who’s ready to have a crack in the senior side and with a manager like Marcelo Bielsa the opportunities are always there. The latest star to be gaining attention from the fans is young Mateusz Bogusz and he again starred last night.

Leeds United’s U23’s were rampant when they took to the pitch last night. The 17-year-old Bogusz was one of the star men as they trounced their Charlton Athletic equivalents 4-0 on Monday evening, and after the game, a lot of the Whites were calling for Bielsa to take note and give the young Polish midfielder a chance amongst the senior squad.
Bielsa already has one talented Pole in his squad in the form of Mateusz Klich, and his younger namesake surely wouldn’t go amiss with the first team given the way he fits the Bielsa style in the U23s. You’d struggle to find a fan who wouldn’t want to gove Bogusz a go with the seniors, especially seeing as how Jack Clarke, Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton et al have performed after being given a chance, and not one fan would complain if he was placed on the bench this Saturday for Sheffield United.
