Leeds United transfer target Riqui Puig has been involved in a furious row with Ronald Koeman at Barcelona according to El Pais.

The Whites have been linked with a move for the Barcelona youngster, with it even being reported that the La Liga outfit see Elland Road as a perfect destination in the short-term for the 21-year-old.

Now, it has been revealed that Koeman has given Puig a dressing down in front of the whole Barca dressing room, even accusing the Spain U21 international of leaking information to the press.
Boost for Leeds
In Leeds’ pursuit of Puig, this can only be good news. It cannot be good for the team to have such a bad relationship in the dressing room, and this is no small accusation. Koeman is effectively saying that Puig cannot be trusted – it is surely untenable for him to remain at the club, at least in the short-term.

The player himself looks to have a bright future. Previously compared to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, he has been an up-and-coming talent for quite a while – Gennaro Gattuso called him “spectacular” way back in 2018. Leeds can therefore take advantage of this situation to obtain a top talent, even if it is just on a temporary basis.
