Manchester United send scouts to watch highly-rated Italian striker who “can do a bit of everything”

Manchester United overhauled their attack last summer, and the results could hardly have been better.

The arrivals of Mateus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo transformed the Red Devils’ frontline, while Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Jadon Sancho all departed on loan.

After a short bedding-in period, the new-look attack clicked into gear and played a major role in United securing a third-place Premier League finish and a return to the Champions League.

Despite those improvements, the club are showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer market. Instead, attention has already turned towards another highly-rated young forward.

Man Utd Send Scouts to Watch Esposito

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United had scouts in attendance during Italy’s recent internationals against Greece and Luxembourg as they continued to monitor Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign for club and country, registering 10 goals and six assists this season while establishing himself as one of Italy’s most exciting young talents.

Esposito’s development has attracted interest from across Europe, but United are among the clubs paying particularly close attention. The young forward started both of Italy’s recent matches and found the net in each, further strengthening his growing reputation.

Inter boss Cristian Chivu has previously praised the youngster’s all-round game, describing him as a striker who “can do a bit of everything” — a trait that has made him such an attractive prospect for top clubs.

Manchester United’s recruitment team are understood to believe Esposito possesses the technical ability, movement and physical attributes required to develop into an elite centre-forward.

Competition for his signature is expected to be fierce, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea’s ownership group also credited with tracking the Italian over the last year.

Whether United move beyond scouting remains to be seen, but Esposito is clearly a player firmly on the club’s radar as they continue planning for both the present and the future.
