Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is adamant his players will be more than ready when football finally resumes, according to Sky Sports.
The manager revealed “everything has been done with military precision” as United prepare for the season to recommence behind closed doors next month.
Football across the country has been suspended in light of the pandemic, raising concerns over player welfare and fitness levels, as teams have been prohibited from working out at stadiums and club facilities.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Wilder added he is convinced his squad have maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the crisis.
He said “the players have a professionalism about them to make sure they are ready. They have kept themselves in brilliant condition, they have stuck to their programmes and come back in great condition.”
Following a unanimous vote by shareholders, the Blades finally returned to Shirecliffe earlier this week, and players have been training in small groups, sticking to the government’s guidelines on social distancing.
Breaking into the Premier League at the start of the season, Wilder’s men find themselves in the top half of the table in seventh place, tied with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 43 points, and only two points behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United. Indeed, the South Yorkshire outfit have a crucial game in hand over their nearest rivals.
The club’s official Twitter account tweeted a “great” excerpt from the interview, prompting loads of reactions from excited Blades fans. One supporter tweeted they are “so proud” while another added “Wolves have no chance.”
