Some West Brom fans believe that Oliver Burke should be sold in the summer transfer window following an unproductive season with La Liga side Deportivo Alaves.
The Scottish international, who joined from RB Leipzig in 2017 for a reported fee of £15m (per BBC Sport), has never lived up to his former expectations after breaking though with Nottingham Forest as a teenager, with Burke going out to the likes of Celtic on loan. This season has seen the winger play for Alaves in Spain.
However, statistics from WhoScored show that Burke has had little impact with the La Liga club since joining in the summer, with the 22-year-old attacker coming off the bench 12 times in the league and playing just 631 minutes of football in La Liga. Based on that, you can see why one fan used the word “waster” in his brutal assessment of the player.

This underwhelming spell has led to some West Brom fans on social media calling on Slaven Bilic to sell the youngster in the summer transfer window. Here’s what a few supporters had to say about Burke on Twitter…
Whenever I saw him play for Albion he wasn’t good enough. Probably a very good league one player. Certainly won’t ever be prem quality and may develop into a good championship player for someone. Didn’t seem to have the desire to match his ambition

No chance – he is a waster – if we could sell, we should do so in my view

No, this has been one of the saddest downturns of a young player with a promising future since Berahino. Massively different circumstances but another case of what could’ve been.

I think the price tag has always put too much pressure on his time at the Albion. It’s been too much for him to live up to. Best option for all parties is to sell in the summer. Can’t see us getting more than £3-4mil though.

West Brom fans, will Burke be sold this summer? Let us know!
