Newcastle United look to be on the verge of promotion from the Championship this season, and their fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait to get back into the Premier League.
The club spent a fortune in the summer just gone, but recouped much of it through player sales.
Manager Rafa Benitez will no doubt have one eye on the transfer window in the summer, and he will probably have already identified players who he feels will be able to help his squad, regardless of which league they sit in.
The Toon Army have been spending a lot of time over at the dartboard this week, and summer transfer targets are high on their discussion topic list this week.
Our landlord thinks Newcastle will be busy again this summer, and we agree, so with this in mind, here are THREE summer transfer targets Newcastle should have their eye on…
Nani

Should Newcastle win promotion, Rafa Benitez might well want to raid his former club Valencia for the Portugal winger.
Nani is a dangerous player on his day and a real handful to defend against. His spell at Man United was inconsistent, but he is still a top quality player and would be a great addition to the Toon.
Jefferson Montero

Another speedy winger who has been mentioned in relation to a few clubs this summer is Swansea City man Jefferson Montero.
The Ecuadorian has excellent ability and would suit Newcastle and their style of play down to the ground.
He is not always a first choice for Swansea, and could well be open to a move to a big club like Newcastle.
Will Hughes

Should Newcastle win promotion, it might be the right time to go out and purchase one of the best young players outside of the top flight.
Hughes is a real talent in the centre of the midfield, and despite a few serious injuries, still looks to be an excellent prospect going forward.
He would be an excellent signing for the club if they were able to get a deal over the line.
