Bye Bye! The 2 most likely players to quit Sunderland this summer

Sunderland are having a miserable season in the Premier League so far, and they look dead set for relegation under David Moyes.

The Black Cats fans here in the Tavern have been in a miserable mood for some time now, and their 0-0 draw with Burnley yesterday did little to lift the mood at the Stadium of Light.

Plenty of talk this season has been around Jermain Defoe, and if the club would even still be within a chance of survival without the England striker.

However, talk over the pool table this week has also turned to the summer, and those players who could well walk away from the club. No matter which league the Mackems are playing in, there is bound to be some outward movement at the club.

With this in mind, we take a look at the TWO players most likely to leave Sunderland this summer…

Jermain Defoe

We have already mentioned him, but the likelihood of Defoe staying with Sunderland seems slim.

If the club ends up relegated, there is no chance of Defoe staying put, and even if they do manage survival, Defoe has proved his worth that much that another Premier League club with higher aspirations might well be looking to take one final punt on the England man.

Lamine Kone

The big defender makes a difference when he plays, and has been one of the more consistent performers for the Mackems this term.

Kone would definitely attract interest from both home and abroad, and his presence and domination of the ball at centre half means he can be a real asset. Kone is one who would probably look to leave this summer, even more so if the club are relegated.
