Rangers will hope to enjoy a good second half of their campaign as they remain in with a chance at winning the league.
It will be a hard task but having beaten Celtic once this season themselves, they know that Brendan Rodgers and his team aren’t indestructible.
Performance levels need to remain high for Rangers to be in with a chance but with the good signings they made in the January transfer window, it could be the extra boost they needed.
The current set of players at times were too inconsistent but with fresh competition in the squad, Rangers could pose a completely different threat to the one they already do.
Especially with the goal-scoring sensation that is Jermain Defoe, who arrived at Ibrox on an 18-month loan deal from Bournemouth.
Defoe, (who is valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt) is easily regarded as one of the best winter signings and Rangers could really stand a chance at facing up to their deadly rivals Celtic.
With just his first appearance in the Scottish League, Defoe found the back of the net. That clinical nature in a striker is rare to find but Jermain Defoe has consistently delivered whatever club he played for.
It will be no different for Rangers either, in fact, his goals could go towards a title win, proving his importance to the team.
Steven Gerrard will undoubtedly be delighted at his new acquisition knowing that is Defoe fires in the goals, Rangers will be there or thereabouts.
These are exciting times at Ibrox and Jermain Defoe will be feeling positive about his move to Scotland, especially as he will be loved if he continues his good form.
