This time last year most Leeds fans would have laughed at you if you claimed they’d be hailing Mateusz Klich as their player if the season in 12 months. The Polish midfielder loaned to FC Utrecht in January this year, however, under Marcelo Bielsa he’s turned his career around and has bagged himself a tidy five goals in the Championship this season.

A lot of Leeds fans are in no doubt that Klich has been their standout performer so far. The 28-year-old midfielder has been like a brand new signing under Bielsa, with his five goals and three assists in the Championship proving pivotal to the way that The Whites play. The Elland Road man has even earned himself a recall to the Poland national team and he scored for his country recently against Ireland too.
Whatever Bielsa has been doing to lich has been working wonders and the fans are in awe of their midfield maestro. He is currently their top scorer this season sitting one ahead of Kemar Roofe, although Roofe missed a considerable chunk of action with an injury. It’s unlikely that Klich will top scorer for the Yorkshire club this season, but his added goals and assists have already proved to be game-changing and if he continues in the same way then he could well be Leeds player of the season in a promotion winning season.
