Leeds United: Club interested in Yan Dhanda

Leeds United have had a quiet transfer window so far, but this could be set to change as they are reportedly interested in signing Championship midfielder Yan Dhanda.

The latest on Dhanda

According to The Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing Dhanda from Swansea City in the January transfer window.

It won’t be easy to acquire the player, however, due to the fact that Bournemouth, RB Leipzig and Atalanta are also interested in the attacking midfielder. Leeds could have room in their squad for the former Liverpool youngster should Tyler Roberts leave the club this month.

Would this be a good signing ?

The 22 year-old attacking midfielder has already made 40 appearances for Swansea City, scoring five goals and picking up three assists along the way (Transfermarkt).

Director of Football Victor Orta deals with all the transfers atLeeds, and it is interesting to see Dhanda touted as a possible attacking replacement for Roberts.

Roberts has only played 265 minutes of football this season, (Transfermarkt) so he has been barely-used by the manager and rarely seen by supporters.

The Leeds attacker has been praised by Noel Whelan in the past, who said: “Now you’ve got Tyler Roberts who I think has been looking fantastic in that position, he poses a different kind of threat, he has a little more pace about him, he is great with the ball at his feet and he defends more.”

Despite his great qualities, he has yet to score in the division, and bringing in a new young attacking star to change things up at the club may be a good idea.
