Leeds United: Fans discuss Jay-Roy Grot’s Elland Road future

Many Leeds United fans have handed youngster Jay-Roy Grot a verdict over his future at the club.

After impressing onlooking Leeds scouts during his early career with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, Grot completed a move to the Yorkshire club in the summer of 2017 for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Appearing regularly during his first season in English football, the young forward found adaptation to the game on these shores a struggle, something he would admit during an interview in July 2018.

The 22-year-old Dutchman has since become a forgotten man at Elland Road and has been on loan with Vitesse this season, but he hasn’t really caught the eye, only netting two goals and gaining one assist in 22 appearances.

With his pending return to England this summer, a debate has opened up via social media over his chances of breaking into Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds sit top of the Championship as things stand and are on the verge of promotion to the Premier League, meaning Grot will have to impress the Argentine boss over the summer to get a chance of playing next term.
