Leeds United: Fans discuss Tom Carnduff’s revelation about the EFL stance on the Championship

The EFL would prefer for Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion to be promoted automatically while Fulham, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston battle each other in the playoffs, according to The Guardian.

Football across the country is suspended due to the ongoing pandemic, and the governing body has been working around the clock to try to find a suitable resolution. Peacocks owner Andrea Radrizzani has made it very apparent he is not pleased with the French authorities’ announcement that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have been cancelled.

question mark

Who was Leeds United's first £100k transfer signing?

At present, Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites sit at the top of the Championship table, boasting a seven-point-gap over the chasing pack, although the club finds itself in limbo as no decision has officially been made yet in regards to United’s potential promotion to the Premier League.

SportingLife journalist Tom Carnduff, who specialises in Leeds United, posted the revelation on Twitter, provoking discussion amongst the LUFC faithful. One fan argued the scenario is “pretty much ideal” while another added “I’d bite your hand off!”

I’d bite your hand off!

That’s seems fair 👍

Pretty much ideal

Problem is, it depends on the Premier League playing out the season to decide relegation. Imagine the legal cases if the bottom 3 were just dumped without playing. Increasing the Premier League numbers is never gonna happen either. Call me a pessimist, but . . .

What do you think, Leeds fans?
