Leeds United: Fans ecstatic as players pledge to support NHS campaign

Lots of Leeds United fans are ecstatic at the news players have pledged to support the Boot the Virus campaign that will raise money for the NHS during the pandemic.

The club’s official Twitter account shared the announcement that the first team are taking part in the brand new scheme to help support medical staff across the country.

Kenny Marland and his partner Joanne are asking football stars to donate a signed pair of boots which will then be auctioned online, with all the proceeds going directly to the publicly-funded healthcare system.

Leeds captain Liam Cooper led by example, nominating four other footballers from Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites to get involved with the initiative. The auction is set to go live on Friday 1st May and will run until the end of the month. For more information make sure to check out www.bootthevirus.com.

Naturally, a whole host of LUFC supporters were delighted by the revelation, with one fan describing the Peacocks as “the club that keeps on giving.”
