Unfortunately, it was another game to forget for West Ham fans yesterday who saw their team lose 1-0 to top-four hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur.
Of course, it should be said that there is no shame in going behind against such a strong side – they certainly won’t be the last this season. However, something the Hammers faithful may be more disappointed with was the manner in which they lost. A total of 13 shots rained down upon French keeper Hugo Lloris; which, in itself, was more than the eventual winner’s tally who only Unfortunately for West Ham, however, games aren’t won by trumping the opposing teams shot count, and with only 4 hitting the target, they ultimately failed to secure the all important goal.
Towards the end of the game changes were made to the team in an attempt to ramp up the pressure, with a far more attacking player in Michail Antonio replacing Mark Noble in the 70th minute. Pellegrini’s decision didn’t exactly go down well, though; he failed to score and fans were quick to criticise his ability.
