The Daily Mail have claimed that Newcastle United could well be set to lose one of their players – as the Turkish transfer window has not actually closed yet.

The window will be open until Monday afternoon and Fenerbahce are keen on landing Papiss Cisse in a £6 million deal.

As one of our regulars notes, it is hardly fair that Magpies fans had breathed a sigh of relief when the window closed – well at least when it came to not losing anymore of their players that is.

Alan Pardew only landed Dutch striker Luuk de Jong in January and it did not make for happy punters here in the tavern.

When it comes to Mike Ashley, unrest seems to be all the rage at the minute and as one of our pint drinking, pizza eating regulars notes, it is hardly a surprise when fans are promised the moon and get nothing in return.

The Magpies already rejected two offers for Cisse before the English window closed and they were around £8 million meaning that they would be highly unlikely to part with anything less than that, certainly not £2 million less.

It is thought Pardew would want at least £10 million before even considering a move.
