Sam Allardyce looks like he has given Crystal Palace a real chance of survival, and another vital three points last time out helped the cause even further.

Palace have some of the most passionate fans in the country, especially where the Premier League is concerned, and they have been making quite a racket over by the pool table here in the Tavern of late.

Some of the Palace squad have really stepped up to the plate for the fight against the drop, and these men will be key if they are to survive.

However, for those players who are doing well, you will always have certain players whose levels drop, and they simply seem to go backwards in terms of their performances.

With this in mind, we take a look at TWO Crystal Palace players who have regressed under Sam Allardyce…

Andros Townsend

The England man has not shown anywhere near the form which saw him propelled int0 the England set up last year, and Allardyce will want more from his man between now and the end of the season.

Townsend can on his day be a match winner, and Palace need as many wins as possible at the moment. With the Eagles locked in a relegation battle, Townsend will be needed to step up to the plate and deliver more than he has already.

Bakary Sako

Another wide player who has done little under Allardyce, Sako is a player who doesn’t quite look suited to Premier League football.

A move could well be on the cards for the former Wolves man this summer, unless there is a huge swing or turn in fortune.

Sako has had chances, he just hasn’t seized them with both hands, and could ultimately pay the price.
