Leeds fans take to Twitter to laud Cooper after Championship TOTY inclusion

Leeds fans on Twitter have all been loving the fact that both Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper have been included in the Championship TOTY. The fans are gutted to see Pablo Hernandez miss out but are delighted that Cooper, in particular, has been rewarded for his incredible form this season, especially given some of the criticism he’s got in the past.

Liam Cooper is a superb player and has really shown that this season. Whilst coming into the season, and off of the back of an awful end to the 2017/18 season, the Whites were all worried about whether or not they could compete at the top level with Cooper at the back. However, he has gone above and beyond this season, starring alongside Pontus Jansson at the back and has repaid Marcelo Bielsa’s trust in him.

Whilst it may be easy to look at Bielsa as the reason for Leeds improvement this season, the players have all stepped up to the plate and then some. Cooper more than most has been incredible and with three goals and 12 clean sheets to his name this season, it really isn’t hard to see why he’s been given the accolade of being included in the Championship’s TOTY for his efforts so far.
