Andrea Radrizzani has responded to the news the French season has been cancelled after the prime minister banned all sporting events until September.
BBC Sport reports France’s top two divisions, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, will not resume as a result of the ongoing pandemic, despite initial plans to finish the campaign by the end of July at the latest.
As of yet, it is unknown if the governing body will decide to completely scrap the season or work out the final results based on current rankings.

Obviously, this announcement has troubled the Leeds United owner, who has made it clear he wants Marcelo Bielsa’s side to be promoted to the Premier League at all costs.
At the moment, the Argentine’s team are at the top of the Championship table, holding a seven-point-lead over the playoff places, and the EFL plans to resume the English second division when it is safe to do so (LeedsLive).
The Leeds chairman quote-tweeted a post from New York Times journalist Tariq Panja, sharing his view on the matter with a simple one-word reply.
Understandably, many Whites reacted to the Italian businessman’s tweet, with one incredulous fan exclaiming “the world has gone mad,” and another supporter branded the update as “ridiculous.”
