Celtic remain in good shape to win the Scottish Premiership once again this season, despite Rangers applying more pressure under Steven Gerrard.
Though for all the improvements Rangers have made, Celtic are still on top and that’s largely thanks to the terrific January business they completed.
Having assessed every problem area in their side, the Hoops have asserted themselves firmly at the top of the table, a position they look set to stay at for the rest of the campaign.
Next season though will arise another almighty task as many will try and de-throne Brendan Rodgers and his team again but with the right additions, that won’t be possible.
With Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah both on-loan, the need for another permanent striker is obvious, with Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia being the man they should chase.
Kodjia, (who is valued at £8.1 million on Transfermarkt) was once an integral part in everything Aston Villa did but now his role is uncertain with the club, hence why he has at times been linked with a move away.
Even though he has made 31 appearances in the Championship, just 18 of those have been from the start as Tammy Abraham has fully asserted himself as Villa’s talisman.
Kodjia has still done okay this season, managing to score six goals and provide a further four assists as well, though he will fondly recollect when he was in top form only two seasons ago – scoring 19 times.
At the age of 28, Jonathan Kodjia isn’t going to get many chances to potentially play in the Champions League but that is something Celtic could provide, albeit at the very least Europa League.
That would surely be of interest to Kodjia and he could rediscover his clinical side with a move to Scotland.
